This B.Ph. programme for a period of three years gives students a detailed exposition of various philosophical themes by acquainting them with both Indian and Western Philosophies as main subjects and English Literature and Psychology as subsidiary subjects. This will lead them to critically examine the various philosophical systems and form a solid and coherent view of life, using the principles and methods proper to philosophy. From the whole program of 180 credits, each semester covers almost 30 credits. The subjects are divided into Obligatory Basic Subjects (OBS) which constitute 60%; the Supplementary Obligatory Subjects (SOS), and the Optional Additional Subjects (OAS) which constitute 40% of the total credits. Besides these, there are also Seminars, Tutorials, Book Reviews, Research Papers, and Theses in the plan of studies, by which a student can earn certain number of credits. Students, properly enrolled in the Institute, who have obtained 180 credits in accordance with the Plan of Studies, will be awarded Baccalaureate in Philosophy (B.Ph.) at the end of this study programme. The minimum academic qualification for admission to this programme is PDC/PUC/Higher Secondary and proficiency in English.
This D.Ph. programme for a period of two years gives students a basic full but comprehensive knowledge of philosophy by acquainting them with major philosophers and schools and by systematic treatment of principal philosophical themes. This course is designed to suit the purpose of those clerical students who need philosophical studies to procced to a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. From the whole program of 120 credits, each semester covers almost 30 credits. Students, properly enrolled in the Institute, who have obtained 120 credits in accordance with the Plan of Studies, will be awarded Diploma in Philosophy (D.Ph.) at the end of this study programme. The minimum academic qualification for admission to this programme is PDC/PUC/Higher Secondary and proficiency in English.
